In 3D Modeling students are introduced to geometric modeling, surface shading, texturing, lighting, and rendering techniques using the Maya 3D software program. The class focuses on creative idea development integrating content with form, lighting, color, and composition.

Still Life Assignment
Throughout the history of Art, still life images have provided an important role in representing culture and achieving realism. Usually inanimate objects, such as fruit, flowers, pottery, and vegetables are painted; however, carcasses of animals have also been depicted. Still lifes have become a rudimentary exercise for many beginning art students attempting to master realism. Students were encouraged to investigate the Memento Mori (remember you must die) and Vanitas (vanity) styles. They were asked to consider including inanimate objects that are important to them or represent their lifestyle. Finally, they were required to include a light source in their scene.
